Twlight Fishing Competition – 19th Nov 2025
Despite some pretty choppy sea conditions this competition went ahead with some 12 boats launched and approximately 21 crew participating.
With recent good reports of snapper catches on the close in reefs near the club, expectations were high for some good catches.
A number of competitors achieved a “bag” but as always there were some hard luck stories with some boats missing out or only finding small pinkies.
The heaviest snapper was recorded by Eddy Zahra with a 5.38 Kg fish with other prizes going to Nick May, Harry Petrios and Sam Levin (junior prize). Eddy was also able to get his “bag” limit of good-sized fish. Tony Huxham and Deb also had a good a catch of nice snapper.
At the end of the event a relaxed meal of hot dogs and a few refreshments, along with prize presentations were enjoyed by all participants in the downstair bar area.
A big thank you to Claude at Complete Angler Bentleigh who generously donated prizes for this event. Please show your support to Claude and his team when you have the opportunity.
Thanks go to Max Trist for being the event weigh master, Tav Ngo for food preparation and Tim Hipkin for purchasing the food.
