Snapper Challenge Competition - 30th Nov 2025
The annual Snapper Challenge Competition was held on 30 November 2025, and is a designated Kerr event. Unfortunately weather conditions were a bit ordinary with moderate westerly winds gusting up to 20 knots. This resulted in a number of the pre-booked boats and crews deciding to give it a miss with only 8 boats launching on the day.
Also unfortunately the fish also decided not to cooperate with only a handful of fish weighed in and many boats returning without a catch.
Prize winners were Leeron Myer heaviest snapper (2.592Kgs) Second heaviest Marty Jay (2.530Kgs) and Secret Weight snapper Yossi Radchenk (1.40Kg). The only Junior entry on the day Sam Levin took home the junior prize.
Thanks again must go to Claude at Complete Angler Bentleigh who again generously sponsored prizes for the event.
Fishing Committee members Tav Ngo, Ross Hodges, Tim Hipkin, and Max Trist all contributed to the smooth running of the event. Other helpers were Julie Ahern, Harry Petsios, Tony Huxham and Wayne Paravicini who helped with lunch food preparation.
