Ricketts Point Regatta NavRally 2025
After watching the weather all week, it was a 50-50 decision whether we could run the NavRally on the day. The weather gods were kind; we were presented with sunshine and abating winds.
The first entrants crossed the start line at 9am and for the first time, we had two surf skis entering the event: Elliott Lewis and Alistair Greenwood. This was followed by the remaining boats around 9.30 to 9.45. The weather kept abating to come down to as low as 10 knots towards the back of the course. This made a great run through the course for all participants.
There was a magnificent lunch prepared by Sharron O’Donoghue, a huge thanks to Sharron.
The results were:
· 1st Place. Beeracoota skippered by Graeme Joynson.
· 2nd Place. Magical Purple Dolphin skippered by Anita Giuliano.
· 3rd Place. Crikey skippered by Cameron Bean.
A big thank you to Brendan O’Donoghue and Roger Hartley for organising the day. Also, a great job by Noel McNicol for being the on-water safety boat monitoring all competitors.
The Boating Committee all pitched in and helped on the day.
Next year we will be running three Nav Rally events. Join in next time and be part of a great day.
