The Commodores Cup opened the 2021 Nav Rally season on the 28th February. The morning was calm and offered crews great conditions for the run. The course of just over 10 nautical miles started heading east from the club jetty and circled Beaumaris Bay returning via Ricketts Point.
A contingent of BMYS boats was joined by three boats from Mordialloc Motor Yacht Club. Thanks very much to the MMYC crews from Lola, Cavatina and Fifty Fifty for competing and joining in the day.
We had a good chat over lunch with Nigel Abbott from MMYC about his boat and navigation techniques. Also great to see Lola return and complete the course after some problems last year.
Congratulations go to Robert Mignone and Matthew Hunt from Mystic for winning the Commodores Cup. This was Rob and Matt‚'s maiden win and they were very excited. All their hard work has paid off in spades. In second place were John and Anita Giuliano with Les Sabo and Kim Kirkpatrick taking third place.
