In 2006 Beaumaris Motor Yacht Squadron hosted the first annual Able Day on the Bay for a group of people with varying degrees of disabilities from an organisation called Able Australia.
We proudly say that Thursday, 20th June 2024 was the 12th occasion that BMYS has hosted this great event.
We had a perfect day weatherwise and could fully use our boats crewed by Club members. Accompanied by their carers Able Australia clients visiting BMYS were able to experience a great boat ride or two on the Bay.
One of the highlights of boat rides was the many playful dolphins who joined us and frolicked beside our boats.
Able Australia is a diverse not-for-profit organisation offering a broad range of disability services for adults and community support for seniors.
Lunch was served in the downstairs Member‚'s Bar for all those taking part in the day, which included the Club volunteers.
