2020 Commodore’s Cup NavRally

Participants in Sunday’s NavRally experienced great weather with very light winds.

However, there was lots of retirements during the race for various reasons including a GPS failure and another entrant unable to meet their starting time as they couldn’t retrieve their anchor. Then we had some other start line issues with a boat missing its scheduled start time.

It was pleasing to have members from Mordialloc Motor Yacht Club join us on the day.

John and Anita Giuliano took at the first prize (in B48) in an unmarked boat (no Club markings). Commodore David Bell is making further enquiries about this omission!

Second was an improving Graeme Joynson and Peter Leason (in #10) with Les Sabo and Kim Kirkpatrick (in #9) in third place.

Graeme and Peter were the handicap winners.

The Boating Committee organised an enjoyable BBQ lunch.

Commodore David Bell (#6) was the excited winner of the NavRally's participant's prize - a 165 litre Engel ice box generously donated by Engel Australia. The Club thanks Engel Australia for their continuing generous sponsorship of the BMYS.

Thanks to all who entered the event and contributed to a great day and congratulations to the prize winners.

Some pics from the day here…. we would like to see your boat in the frame for the next Club NavRally – the Wackett Trophy NavRally on Sunday 26th April!
