JOINING OUR CLUB

Apply now to enjoy the benefits of becoming a BMYS member

BMYS has been a strong part of the Bayside community since opening the facility in 1959. Beyond the safe boat launching access and the on-water competitions members enjoy, many local residents of Bayside have celebrated special events with friends and colleagues at the club also. The club now offers two categories of membership; one to suit the traditional on-water activities the club is well known for, as well as a social category designed for friends, family and local residents to enjoy the club hospitality aspect

Joining BMYS is a relatively simple process, where it is desired for you to have an existing member Nominate and another Second your application. People new to the area without a membership connection are asked to meet with the Commodore or a Board representative, which is a great opportunity to highlight what the aims for the club are and identify how this would likely be aligned with your needs.

Is there a waiting list for membership applications?

At present there are membership vacancies for Boating membership and a waiting list is being created for the Social category before the next group is to be inducted.  The aim is always to make the process as welcoming as possible, which is why members tend to be inducted as a group.  Having new inductees join together assists in processing but more importantly when new members meet one another at the orientation, it provides a comfortable environment with other people new to the club.

Can I make split payments for the annual subscription?

Boating Members are able to split the annual subscription into monthly direct debit, or direct credit methods.

The option is available to select when making the application, to indicate a monthly instalment would better suit your needs.  The arrangement would be for an initial $200 payment to cover the Food & Beverage credit (loaded directly onto your key for immediate access).  Each month thereafter would be a one 11th portion of the annual subscription until renewal time again on March 1st.

How can I apply to become a BMYS member now?

A nomination form for Boating membership can be completed by clicking the heading below.  Social membership details can be completed as well, so that the waiting list for the next induction can be created.  Together with your contact details and some added information to be aware of and acknowledge.  Submitting your form will prompt the administration team to follow up with you directly to arrange payment of your application fee

I would welcome you to call past the Club for a tour of the venue and to speak more with you about what BMYS can offer you.  The weekly Bistro is available for non-members to make a booking and I would encourage anyone considering BMYS to join us on a Friday evening and experience the food, the service, the ambiance and member interaction to be sure the club meets your needs.
Please feel welcome to contact me at the club via email (bmys@bigpond.com.au) or by phone (03) 9589 5156 to make a booking, or ask any follow-up questions about becoming a member.

Thank you again for the enthusiasm towards club membership, I look forward to welcoming you.
